The site overhaul work continues with some changes to the Web Design gallery and some design tweaks. The main additions are that the Limo Booking demo and the Buy, Sell and Swap demo are online and functional, except for a few features such as image uploading. I've deliberately decided to leave that feature disabled for now as I haven't fully figured out the structure of the image table from my old development files yet, and it's an obvious source of possible site vandalism.
Unfortunately, some of the sites I have listed on my web design gallery have gone down, apparently permanently. As I don't have backup files for those sites I decided to create a new "Dead sites" subsection for them so that they will still be listed in the hopes that they come back online at some point in the future.
I have made a few tweaks to the design as well but haven't uploaded them yet because I am using a transparent PNG to achieve the effect and while it works fine in Internet Explorer 7, version 6 doesn't support the effect. When I have the time I will tweak the IE 6 workarounds CSS so that it leaves the site as it is for IE 6 but loads the tweaks for browsers that support it properly.

As you can see the site has undergone a major overhaul with a completely new design. The old layout was well over five years old and relied heavily on tables. It didn't reflect how web design is done nowadays anymore.
I took the opportunity to switch to an entirely CSS design and experiment with such things as liquid layout and features of CSS 2 that have become preferred over table-based layout. Additionally, as Internet Explorer has finally been updated to version 7 I have also decided to try experimenting with PNGs and to let IE6 compatibility take a back seat. the site is still fully viewable in IE6 but you might notice a few anomalies such as title bars not running completely across their containers and such. PNGs with alpha transparency will also not work as intended.
I have added a few new sections and am working on others as time allows. There is now a web design gallery which shows off some of the web sites I have worked on. I will also be adding a page to showcase my experiments with the Blender 3D modeling software package, though there's not much content to go up there yet.
In addition to pages |I have worked on recently I also decided it would be interesting to put up archives of old versionf of my home page. You can find those on the web design gallery page, I foudn it quite interesting to look over those old pages again. It's quite a revelation to see how you have advanced over the years and gained experience!
